JAMES L. MCQUAIG JR., O.D.
A native of Southeast Georgia, Dr. McQuaig carries his grandfather and father's tradition of practicing optometry. After attending Georgia Southern University, he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in 1981.
Dr. McQuaig is a past president of the Georgia Optometric Association. Though he has provided care for a wide range of patients over the last 35 years, Dr. McQuaig now feels he is following his calling to "provide unmatched care for the geriatric population."
In his free time he loves getting away to Ponce Inlet, FL and relaxing with his wife, Linda, and their dog, Bella. Anyone who knows Dr. McQuaig knows you couldn't meet a more likeable or caring fellow.
BLAKE HUTTO, O.D.
A patient of Family Vision Care since 3rd grade, Dr. Hutto left home to achieve his Bachelor of Biology and Bachelor of Nursing from Valdosta State University before heading to Ft. Lauderdale, where he completed his Doctor of Optometry.
At work Dr. Hutto revels in treating diseases of the eye (including dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration and rare dystrophies/degenerations). In the spirit of "always up for a challenge" Dr. Hutto also enjoys challenging contact lens fits (including multifocal and hybrid contact lenses).
Free time is fleeting as Dr. Hutto soaks up most of his leisure with his wife, Megan, and two sons, Dutch and Elliott.
DOO KANG, O.D.
Dr. Kang received his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Michigan State University. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University. Interested in pursuing further education, Dr. Kang went on to complete a residency in Primary care/ Low vision in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Dr. Kang strives to be personable and thorough when it comes to patient care. He enjoys connecting with people and educating them on their ocular health.
Outside of the office, he enjoys being active with his wife, Jaimee, and puppy, Lexi, and playing golf.
Mary Alice Thompson
A mighty landmark of Family Vision Care, Mary Alice (or "Ma" as we affectionately call her) has been with our family for over 40 years!! Mary Alice is an optical connoisseur and works to craft you a tailored look that's "custom you." If ever given a moment's notice, you'll see her taillights as she heads south to Jacksonville to see her daughter, Alison, for some good food and fun.
Nearing her 20 year mark with FVC, Dana has worked front desk, patient care/technician, optician and even in our lab cutting and edging lenses. Dana is known for surprising the office with baked goods, which strangely, no one ever complains about. Dana also enjoys spending time with her husband, Andy, and is very active in her local church family. She has three children (Ty, Cliff, and, yes Dr. Blake Hutto) and 5 grandchildren.
Stephanie is one of 2 amazing "Stephanie's" at FVC. She has mastered the front desk and also works with billing, patient reminders, and tons more. She's gotten great at being awesome. In her free time she enjoys relaxing with her husband, Shane, or chasing their two boys, Ethan and Hayden.
The second, and just as amazing, Stephanie has been a member of FVC for 15 years and worked for many years at our front desk. She is now in charge of all things insurance (what a lucky gal). Stephanie is dedicated to her local church and enjoys spending time with her husband, Stephen, and sweet daughter MacKenzie.
Kim joined the FVC family 8 years ago and has excelled as a technician and contact lens aficionado. Kim is spectacular at making sure you get your yearly supply of contact lenses and handles troubleshooting no matter how rare it may be. When Kim isn't making a "honey-do" list for her husband Randy, she's spending time with family, including their 2 kids and 6 grandkids.
Trisha became a member of our family 5 years ago. She is known for complete case histories and is also a geriatric whisperer. She truly loves and cares for our patients, and it shows in her work as a technician. Trish and her husband, Loyal are known for vacationing abroad with tons of cool excursions along the way.
Heather is our silent FVC ninja! She can work as a technician, contact lens assistant, answer phones, problem solve.... really anything, and doesn't even have to waste a single sticky note. Heather is known for her even temperament and always putting our patients first. When she's not at work, Heather spends time with her husband, James, at home with their self-proclaimed "zoo" (including horses, dogs and even a mini pig!).
Find a hat. Ask James to wear it. Watch him ROCK it! James joined our team in 2015 and has used everything from his MBA to common sense to make sure we are a well oiled machine. James manages our lab, helps oversee finances, and (most importantly) aids Dr. Hutto in any necessary practical joking. When James isn't at the salt mines, he's spending time with his wife, Candace, and baby girl, Audrey, and son, Jack.
Dana is the clumsiest member of the FVC family. Dana will greet you at the front desk and take all of your information to make sure we get things off to a great start. Dana enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Wayne and their dog Dani Wayne.
Abby joined our family in February 2017 as our hybrid front desk and optical aficionado. Abby is currently attaining her Bachelor's degree in Business, and we look forward to helping her learn the business of eye care and patient satisfaction. Abby's two favorite pastimes are pheasant hunting and her yearly trip to national Dungeons and Dragons Gen Con.
